 Purpose

Undertake concentrated and comprehensive training in the very latest theory and practice of auditing an Environmental Management
System with this two-day course (the technical component of our Lead Auditor course). Ideal for current lead auditors and consultants
wishing to expand their scope of expertise across multiple management systems or those involved with auditing integrated systems.

This course forms part of our five-day Lead Auditor course and provides a technical understanding of Environmental Management
Systems from an audit perspective. You should already have a reasonable understanding of Environmental Management Systems as a prerequisite. This course may be undertaken as a stand-alone course if you have already completed a five-day Lead Auditor course in a different management system. Ask our Customer Service team for further details.

 Course Outline

For those who already hold an auditor qualification and wish to expand the scope of their auditing skills, the two-day technical component of our Lead Auditor Courses is the training you need.

 Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course participants should be able to:
  1. Understand the application of environmental management principles;
  2. Understand the application of environmental science and technology;
  3. Understand the application of environmental systems to different operational processes;
  4. Assess the risk of significant environmental impacts and activities identified in the context of the organisation’s EMS management system;
  5. Assess the effectiveness of methodologies to control environmental hazards;
  6. Assess the EMS roles and responsibilities within the context of the organisational environment;
  7. Determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the EMS.

 International Scope

The courses make extensive use of case studies, team analysis and group discussions as well as a solid teaching program.

 Achievement

Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, participants will be issued with a certificate of attainment for the internationally recognised RABQSA competency units (as appropriate for the course attended):

RABQSA – EM: Auditing environmental Management Systems

This course is certified under the RABQSA International Training Provider Examination Certification Scheme for management system auditors and will enable successful participants to apply to RABQSA International for certification as a provisional auditor in the appropriate field at a discounted price.

 Prerequisites
