 Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
  1. Conduct an environmental review for their organisation
  2. Use various methodologies to evaluate environmental risks and factors
  3. Develop environmental information and data analysis, reporting and recording processes appropriate for their organisation
  4. Determine key milestones for implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) including key resources required to implement and maintain an effective EMS
  5. Document an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004
  6. Document data control and record keeping procedures
  7. Develop environmental objectives, targets and management plans
  8. Develop environmental awareness, communication and training strategies
  9. Develop systems for monitoring and measuring an EMS and environmental performance
  10. Report on the performance of an Environmental Management System

 Achievement

Upon completion of this course and the associated assessment task, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following units that contribute to the SAI Global Advanced Diploma Environmental Management Systems qualification**.

  1. SAIEMS601A Develop a systematic approach to managing organisational environmental risks*
  2. SAIEMS602A Identify, develop and evaluate environmental information and data*
  3. SAIEMS603A Analyse and evaluate environmental risks and implement risk controls*

    **This is NOT a qualification under the Australian Quality Training framework (AQTF)

 Prerequisites

This course is complementary to Understanding Environmental Management and Understanding the ISO 14001 Specification courses, and is most appropriate when taken after these.
